I had a wonderful senior shoot today with a student from North Central High School! We started out at the IMA and then headed over to Butler’s Holcomb Gardens.

Lindsey and Cody and a beautiful wedding a few weekends ago. It was one of those amazing weddings where I was crying too. When the groom sees his wife for the first time and his eyes start to well up…I just lose it. It always reminds me of my wedding day. Some of these shots have been added to my all-time-fave list. Enjoy!

You know your day is going to go well when you get to the Bride’s house and the wedding dress is already hanging for you. From the bannisters no less!
So I went out to the backyard to take some standard shoe shots. I take a bunch and as I’m walking back to the house I notice the bright cherry red corvette just begging to be used as a prop. I couldn’t resist. Shhh! Don’t tell her Dad!

Todd sees his daughter for the first time. I love the shot where he is fixing the back of her dress. Such a sweet moment.

Love that smile!

I asked Lindsey to kind of hide behind her flowers and giggle. If you know Lindsey you know that once she starts giggling she has a hard time stopping. This turned out to be the case and a few moments later all her bridesmaids started cracking up too!
What do you get when you tell a bunch of guys to turn 45 degrees. This. I actually meant for them to turn inwards, but once they did this I thought it looked pretty great.

I love this rimlight shot. This is definitely one of my faves.

Cody’s dream finally came true! Since my first meeting with them he couldn’t stop talking about how much he wanted to smash cake into Lindsey’s face. He said he’d been waiting his whole life for that. Unfortunately Lindsey’s family did not think it was a good idea. Luckily for him, Lindsey is awesome and decided to take matters into her own hands. She started it, but I think he definitely finished it. =)

These two photos illustrate the CLEAR difference between single girls and single guys. If you look closely you can even see that one of the girls is being lifted up by someone else! The guys though…they actually moved away from the garter and let it fall on the dance floor! Cody’s best man graciously picked it up. That’s what the best man is for!
I LOVE these outdoor shots. I saw these shots in camera and swooned a little. You know that feeling when you’re working with the perfect couple, and the light is just right? Bliss.

I believe we have a winner! I think this is my new favorite shot of the year!
After the reception wound down we headed (via the longest possible route. Seriously.) downtown for a little action on the circle.

In the words of the out-past-her-bedtime-too-cool-for-school-teenager that was hanging out on the circle, “Hey! Isn’t it time for the honeymoon?!? Oooooh!” Why yes. Yes it is. Thanks again for letting me be a part of your day guys! It was definitely a day filled with beauty.

Brooke+Jon: Indianapolis Wedding

Last weekend Brooke and Jon were married at on a gloriously hot day! They were a blast and their whole wedding was beautiful. You can just see the joy on their faces as they walked back down the aisle. It was a truly blessed day.

We started out at the day at 4:59 barber. It is a great little full service barbershop. Complete with massages and straight razor shaves.

After the barbershop I headed over to meet Brooke at Macy’s for her makeup. I’ve never seen a bride with such a calm silly demeanor. She was hilarious! After that we headed to Urban Gypsy in Broad Ripple and then we were off to Common Ground for the ceremony!

This shot is one of my favorites. It was taken by my wife, Carter.

You can tell they were meant for each other…

I love the expression on Brooke’s face in this one!

Thanks to everyone who “liked” my facebook page this week. If you’ve made it to this page looking to try out the new facebook commenting feature all you need to do is scroll past these hilarious pictures of my daughter! If this test goes well and everyone likes the new system we’ll do away with the old commenting system! If you don’t like the new system let us know that as well.

Now. On to the goods. Never before seen pictures of my daughter! Hip hip hooray!

Lindsey+Cody: Danville Engagement Session

Lindsey, Cody and I have a fabulous time roaming around Cody’s property just outside of Danville, IN. We wandered through fields, hung out near the barn, climbed up to the railroad tracks, went to town, and then played in the creek. Most couples would have passed out from exhaustion, but not these two! They rocked it hard all shoot long and we were able to make some AMAZING images.

Brittany+Nick: Engagment Sneak Peak

Brittany, Nick and I barely managed to escape the rain tonight! We had a blast roaming around dowtown and generally getting into photographic trouble. At one point a manager for one of the hotels walked up to me and said, “Oh phew. I thought maybe we had a dead body down there…” Um what!?! There were no dead bodies, but I did have drop-dead gorgeous models to work with! Yes Nick I’m talking about you too! I initially asked them to meet me at the Claddagh (you’ll understand why that is hilarious after you see their photos). It was a completely innocent decision! I swear! Stay on the lookout for more photos in the coming days.

Kelli+Nate: Engagement Photos

Kelli, Nate and I headed to downtown Zionsville yesterday for their engagement shoot. It was a perfect scene. The village basically shuts down after 5. Unfortunately the Sun never got that message. It was almost 90 DEGREES! What!? I thought it was still May. We had a blast regardless and we also had a great excuse to head to (according to Nate’s boss) the #1 ranked Dairy Queen in all of Indiana. Maybe even the nation!

Kali Litherland – Senior Session

Kali is in the 2010 graduating class at North Central High School and also just happened to have an amazing senior photography shoot today! We started out at Butler’s Holcomb Gardens. Carter and I had some of our wedding photos taken there. It’s a great place to shoot and very quiet on Saturday mornings. This shot wasn’t nearly as dangerous as my last senior session (no horses), but we did end up going out to an old airfield in Westfield. The place has been run by the same family for about 50 years and they are incredibly nice. Nice enough in fact to let us shoot just about wherever we wanted! Let me just say that the creek water was extremely cold. Brrr.

Does everyone remember Rachel from a couple of weeks ago? SHE’S BAACK! These two are hosting a joint graduation party and wanted to have a few shots together. Aren’t they cute?

So I’ve completely fallen in love with this field! It is amazing. Super tall grass with beautiful yellow “weeds.”

Gotta love that smile. At this point Kali’s eyballs were burning in her sockets because the sun was so frackin’ (any other Battlestar fans in the house!) hot.

At the end of the shoot I decided to hop down into the creek. It was extremely muddy and a ton of fun. Thanks to Kali and her Mom and to my new art director Rachel! You guys were fantastic today!
